To the fabric has peculiar smell, the customer is generally not acceptable, in addition to the specified to do aromatic finishing, so normal fabric is required to have no special smell, when there is peculiar smell, we need to know how to prevent and find out the source of the problem, this paper expounds the cause of some peculiar smell and may produce peculiar smell of printing and dyeing auxiliaries.

Peculiar smell mainly has mildew, high boiling range oil, aromatic hydrocarbon smell, fishy smell, etc., the following one by one:

Musty smell

Mildew is mainly produced by microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and other decomposition of organic pollutants on textiles. because there are many kinds of microorganisms, affected by the environment, so mildew is a kind of general term of smell.  In the process of textile and garment production and processing, due to improper process arrangement time limit for a project is long, the environment is wet and other reasons, easy to breed microorganisms;  Warehouse storage environment is wet, transportation encountered in wet, rain weather and other environmental factors may produce mildew.

High boiling range petroleum flavor

In spinning and textile dyeing and finishing, some additives containing gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene and other mineral oil are often used as lubricant or solvent.  Such as chemical fiber in spinning to reduce friction static electricity often add some oil: wool opening to add and wool oil, feed static electricity, improve the opening effect to reduce fiber damage;  Kerosene ehlb value of 6 - 9, commonly used as a dispersion ( such as binder BH with kerosene as dispersion ), also often with water and emulsifier to form a pulp as a thickening agent for coating printing;  Some oils used by machines in the production of clothing, etc., these factors will bring oil smell to textiles.

Aromatic odor

Aromatic hydrocarbon refers to the general term of hydrocarbon compounds containing benzene ring.  In the process of textile and garment production, printing and dyeing and finishing, the textile auxiliaries often contain aromatic hydrocarbon compounds such as benzene, phenol, styrene, toluene, xylene, aniline, benzoic acid and so on.  In addition, fragrances are used to mask off odors and introduce unpleasant aromatic odors.

fishy taste

The fishy smell of fish is mainly the odor of trimethylamine [ n ( CH3 ) 3 ] which is a by-product of resin finishing of textiles during baking.  But some of the produced by-products trimethylamine in the form of methyl salt on textiles, when stored or taken to decompose trimethylamine, produce unpleasant fishy smell.

Assistant correlation analysis

The following is the dyeing auxiliary agent may produce peculiar smell related ingredients, for reference only, the actual analysis of practical problems.

Pre - treatment

1, deoiling agent ( xylene, tetrachloroethylene, dibutyl phosphate, etc. )

2, low temperature pretreatment agent ( solvent )

Dyeing

1. repair agent ( carrier: methylnaphthalene, methyl salicylate, dibutyl ester )

2, glacial acetic acid acidity ( change citric acid and other tasteless acid )

3. fishy smell of fixing agent ( containing dimethylamine and trimethylamine )

4, modifier ( phenol, formaldehyde, dimethylamine, trimethylamine, etc. )

5, acid reduction cleaning agent

Printing

1, discharge agent ( such as carved white powder, de guxin, etc. )

2. adhesive

After finishing

1. resin

2. coating: pu

3, silicone oil odor ( taste of emulsifier and solvent, silicon products raw materials, finished products, by-products taste )

4. taste of fatty acid softener
